阿秒激光設施被稱為摸索微觀世界的“超高速攝像機”。“阿秒”是百億億分之一秒的時間單位，電子運動正處于這一超短時間標準。依托高機能飛秒激光，該設施可實現對電子運動的跟油氣分離器改良版蹤、測量與操控，讓科學家能像回加快動作電影般，觀測電子在原子內的運動軌跡，探討其彼此感化規律。
